Alta Vista is committed to weaving real-life relevance into students' learning by encouraging parents to volunteer int he classroom and by adventuring beyond the classroom walls on field trips. We count on parent volunteers to partner with us by serving as classroom volunteers, field trip chaperones and drivers. We ask parents to complete the required volunteers/chaperones/drivers paperwork at the start of the year so you're ready to go when the time comes!

Just Once: Volunteers/Chaperones/Drivers must have a clear Livescan fingerprint report on file specifically with the Auburn Union School District no less than one week prior to the field trip (once fingerprinted with the district, you do not have to do this again each year). There are a variety of places to complete your Livescan fingerprinting, including:

Auburn Police Department 1215 Lincoln Avenue, Auburn (530) 823-4237
Mail N More 2280 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn (530) 888.8612
The UPS Store 2945 Bell Road, Auburn (530) 823.2422

Each Year: Chaperones must sign a Chaperone Code of Conduct, Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement and, if driving, provide a copy of current drivers license (from which we generate a DMV Driver Record) and proof of auto insurance. Pursuant to district board policy, these requirements apply to all parents, including those who wish to drive only their child on the field trip.

Medications: If your child is participating in an overnight field trip and receives daily medication at home that will need to be administered during the field trip, a Parent Release for the Administration of Medication form must be completed and signed by your doctor. The completed form must be received by our office at least two weeks prior to the field trip for your child to be able to attend so PLEASE PLAN AHEAD. Jackie Davis, our Health Assistant, is happy to help you with this and can be reached at 530.745.1227 or by email at Thank you!
