Dear Alta Vista Community Charter School Families,
I am overjoyed to be the new principal of Alta Vista Community Charter School. I am beyond excited to start serving the exceptional students and staff and becoming part of the Alta Vista Buck community.
Alta Vista has a strong focus on educating the whole child. Meeting our students' needs is very critical, but equally important is supporting our students’ social and emotional growth. The teachers at Alta Vista are skilled in differentiating the curriculum to challenge our students with hands-on, project-based learning, enrichment projects, and incorporating social and emotional skills into the daily lessons. Teachers celebrate academic achievement through ongoing data collection and collaboration to develop the next steps for student success. Placing the child at the heart of every decision is the guiding principle that is always reflected upon.
Alta Vista is a wonderful community where family involvement is valued and welcomed. It has a small family feel, and we understand that learning would be difficult without parental and family partnerships. In addition to parent involvement, our small class sizes create a wonderful, safe, and challenging learning environment. All students are known by name, which creates a positive and nurturing environment.
As we continue the 2020-2021 school year, I do not doubt that Alta Vista will continue to strive for academic, social, and emotional excellence. As a community, we will work together to navigate through these challenging times.
